Available Property

Property use and development is guided by the Town’s Official Plan, a comprehensive, long-range planning document designed to guide and direct future growth in a logical and orderly manner to the benefits of all residents.The Plan is supplemented by the municipality’s Zoning Bylaw, which regulates how land and buildings are used, the location of buildings, lot coverage, building heights and other provisions necessary to ensure proper development.There are a couple of things that set KL apart when it comes to planning.

  • We don't charge development fees;

  • Our planning and building fees are user friendly, meaning you put your money your business, not our pockets;

  • We offer customized service. Our Planning Services Department will work with you through every step of the process, and help you as needed with your plans, permits etc.

KL has land and property to meet every need, be it industrial land ready for development to downtown store fronts.

  • Archer Drive Industrial Park offers 350 acres of partially serviced land, and is home to a variety of companies including a co-generation plant, sawmill, distribution centre, industrial motor repair centre, a commercial waste and recycling company and a hazardous waste disposal company. Lots of various sizes are available at flexible terms. Additional commercial and industrial sites are available throughout the municipality, specifically along the Trans-Canada Highway 66 corridor between the downtown and Swastika, and on Goodfish Road on the way to the airport.

  • Commercial property is readily available in the downtown sector, as well as along the Highway 66 corridor between the downtown and the village of Swastika. The downtown is home to the majority of retail activity.

Council has designated certain areas eligible under the Community Improvement Plan, making businesses located there eligible for certain incentives. Visit the Community Improvement Plan page for more information.
